Accommodation & Welfare
At Greene’s we are committed to supporting your life outside the college. Academic success requires you to be working within a suitable environment and have a balanced lifestyle.
Accommodation & Welfare
Accommodation
Although Greene’s does not directly provide accommodation we do have ideas and are able to suggest suitable accommodation for you to view and select as you wish. Many students who require accommodation prefer to take a room in a private home in Oxford, through a host-family or a landlady.
Staying with a host-family introduces you to people to meet and talk with and means that at least two meals a day are provided. You also have your laundry catered for. Not having to worry about meals and laundry during exams can help relieve exam related worry and stress.
Whatever your needs, our aim is to help you find the type of accommodation that meets your needs and allows you to study effectively.
Welfare
At Greene’s you will have a designated Personal Tutor who is responsible for your support and addressing any welfare concerns that you may have. While you will have an individual plan of study at Greene’s, the college provides regular student socials, seminars, opportunities for collaborative learning and events in order for you to feel part of the Greene’s community and benefit from the opportunities available in a city like Oxford. The student committee – for which you can stand for election – liaises with the college so students always feel that they have a voice at Greene’s.
We have very successful Christmas Balls, Pizza Nights and Summer Parties.
