Each year students from all over the world choose to study for their undergraduate degree at a U.S. university or college. With more contact hours and wider course options, many students are increasingly drawn to the American higher education system – which includes many of the world’s top-ranking universities.

We know that for students with no knowledge of the American application system, the process can be daunting. Our advisors, with specialist knowledge of U.S. universities, will guide you through the process of understanding and planning every aspect of your application.

Greene’s individual college counselling courses for U.S. university entrance are designed to guide you through the entire U.S. university application process, from initial research to filing your application. The U.S. university application process often takes several months and requires careful and thorough advanced planning.

U.S. SAT I preparation

Students planning to apply to university in the U.S. often need to take the SAT, a standardised test run by the College Board.

Our SAT preparation course gives you the help you need by introducing both the content found in the test and techniques for tackling each type of question.

Our course includes:

  • Twelve hours of individual tuition;
  • Two graded SAT pre- and post-course examinations (self-invigilated) and score reports;
  • Six hours of graded homework;
  • Greene’s SAT course workbooks covering Mathematics, Critical Reading and Writing;
  • A Greene’s Online final course report, and online reports after each test and tutorial.

U.S. SAT II (subject test) preparation

The SAT IIs are subject tests which correspond to A levels in the depth of knowledge required. However, there are fewer subjects from which to choose and all the tests are multiple-choice questions.

You are advised to sit three SAT II subject tests in order to send your top two marks to the universities you are applying to.

Greene’s offers flexible courses of individual tuition to help with SAT II test preparation.

We find that Greene’s students often perform best in the following SAT II subjects as they relate most closely to subjects commonly taken at A level:

  • Literature
  • Mathematics Level 1
  • Mathematics Level 2
  • Biology Ecological (Biology E)
  • Biology Molecular (Biology M)
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
