A level Mathematics
“Without mathematics, there’s nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.” –
Shakuntala Devi
what will you study?
At Greene’s, our A level Mathematics is highly popular, with many students opting to also study Further Maths.
Two-thirds of the course focuses on pure mathematics, revisiting GCSE topics like algebra, geometry, and trigonometry while introducing new analytical tools such as calculus. The remaining third is split between Mechanics, which covers forces, motion, and static equilibrium, and Statistics, which involves the collection, organisation, and analysis of data using probability theory.
Mathematics supports studies in Sciences, Social Sciences, Geography, and Computing, and it is also rewarding to study for its own sake. If you enjoy problem-solving, are skilled in algebra, A level Mathematics at Greene’s could be an excellent fit for you. Further Mathematics is recommended for those with exceptional ability, aiming for high-ranking universities in fields like Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics.
