

Study A level Film Studies at Greene’s.
The course covers the significance of film in national, global, and historical contexts, examining how social, cultural, political, historical, and technological factors influence cinema. Students will learn how films generate meanings and responses, and how they serve as an aesthetic medium. They will also explore the different ways spectators engage with films. Various mediums will be discussed, including documentaries, silent era classics, experimental films, shorts.
Critical analysis is a key component of the curriculum, and students demonstrate their understanding through either filmmaking or screenwriting projects. By studying Film Studies, students will enhance their critical thinking and gain a deeper appreciation of how cinema reflects and shapes society, culture, and history.
There are plenty of opportunities that arise from studying A level Film Studies. For example, students can eventually go on to journalism, film production, advertising, teaching, and various forms of media production.
