what will you study?
Students will explore a range of topics, which may include Homer’s Iliad and Virgil’s Aeneid, amongst other texts that comprise some of the world’s oldest surviving pieces of literature. Students also examine the art and architecture of the ancient world.
The course develops critical thinking and analytical skills, essential for interpreting texts and artworks. Students will learn to craft persuasive arguments and contextualise historical and cultural phenomena. Through engaging with classical texts and artworks, students gain a profound understanding of human civilisation’s evolution. They learn to appreciate and analyse cultural nuances, preparing them to navigate the complexities of contemporary society.
