Focused & Accelerated Curriculum
To ensure success within the condensed timeframe, the curriculum is necessarily focused. Students typically study a reduced number of subjects, between five and seven, with a strong emphasis on core academic areas like Mathematics, English, and the Sciences, which are vital for future progression.
Intensive Exam Preparation
The programme places a primary emphasis on exam-focused preparation. This includes targeted revision strategies, frequent practice with past papers, and regular mock examinations to build confidence and maximise performance under real exam conditions.
Small Classes, High Impact
With an average class size significantly smaller than in standard schools, our specialist tutors can provide a high degree of individual attention and tailored support. This personalised approach is critical when covering extensive material quickly.
Comprehensive Pastoral Support
We recognise the pressures of an intensive course. A supportive environment is crucial, and robust pastoral care is a significant and heavily emphasised component of the programme. Your Personal Tutor is dedicated to your well-being, helping you manage academic stress and navigate personal challenges.

This intensive course is designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of students with specific goals. It is an ideal pathway for students aiming to improve grades, students needing a fresh start and extra support, and international students seeking UK qualifications.
Students Aiming to Improve Grades
If you did not achieve the required grades for your desired A-Level courses, this programme offers a second chance to improve your academic record quickly and effectively.
Students Needing a Fresh Start
If you have had an interrupted education or feel a smaller, more focused setting would be more conducive to your learning style, this course provides a new and supportive environment to achieve your goals.
International Students
If you are seeking recognised UK qualifications to progress to A-Levels or an International Baccalaureate (IB) and subsequently apply to UK universities, this course serves as the perfect academic bridge.
To allow for the necessary focus in a one-year timeframe, students study a condensed curriculum of five to seven subjects, prioritising those essential for A-Level entry.
Core Subjects
Our programme is built around a core of Mathematics, English Language (or English as a Second Language for international students), and the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
Popular Optional Subjects
Depending on student goals and uptake, we offer a range of optional subjects including Business Studies, Economics, History, Geography, and Modern Foreign Languages. Many of our courses use International GCSE (iGCSE) qualifications, which are widely recognised by top universities and well-suited to an intensive, exam-focused programme.
Our subject offering is flexible. If a subject you are interested in is not listed, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
The primary academic goal of this intensive programme is to facilitate your progression to further education. In just one year, you can achieve the specific grades needed to enter your chosen A-Level, IB, or Foundation programme. Beyond just the grades, the course is designed to equip you with the requisite literacy, numeracy, and core study skills required to flourish in the demanding sixth-form environment.

For students seeking a traditional, more paced approach to their GCSEs, we also offer a two-year full-time GCSE programme. This course covers the full curriculum at a comprehensive pace over two academic years, ensuring you build a deep and robust foundation for your A-levels.
For students looking to improve specific grades, our retake courses are designed to fit your exact requirements. With tuition that is individual or in groups of no more than three, we provide the focused support you need to rise to the challenge and achieve your full potential.
In addition to your full-time GCSE programme, Greene’s provides dedicated support for international students to develop the English language skills essential for academic success. Our dedicated EFL and IELTS courses help you achieve the proficiency required for future A-level study and university applications. These courses are taught using the exact same trusted and successful tutorial method as all our other programmes, ensuring a consistent, high-quality learning experience.
Students on the intensive one-year programme typically study between five and seven subjects. This allows for a deep focus on the core qualifications needed for A-Level progression.
Entry requirements vary. The programme is suitable for those retaking exams to improve grades (e.g., from a grade 3) as well as those aiming to boost existing passes (e.g., grade 4 or above) to get into competitive A-Level courses. We assess each applicant to ensure they can cope with the demands of the programme.
