We’re embarking on an exciting new chapter in enhancing the fitness and athleticism of our students.
Miles Welch-Hayes is a professional footballer with nearly a decade of experience in the sport. Having made his debut for Oxford United at just 19 years old, Miles has played over 200 professional matches, including stints in the Scottish Premiership.
Despite his success, Miles continues to strive for greatness at 28, and his dedication to self-improvement serves as a powerful example for those he mentors.
In addition to his playing career, Miles is the founder of the Miles Welch-Hayes Football Academy, where he works with athletes of all levels—whether they are aspiring professionals or simply looking to improve their skills.
His mission is clear: to provide young players with the tools, insights, and guidance they need to succeed in their sporting careers. Miles brings that same passion and focus to Greene’s, where he aims to inspire students to reach new heights in their fitness and personal goals.
At Greene’s, we are proud to offer mentorship opportunities with Miles to guide students both inside and outside the gym, helping them succeed in all areas of life.
Isaac Thurston, the founder of Headline Conditioning, brings years of experience working with athletes from a variety of disciplines, from footballers to Olympic-bound equestrian riders. Isaac’s expertise is rooted in his collaboration with top-tier professionals and organisations, such as APEC in the USA, a facility known for developing NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes, and his mentorship under Dan Lawrence, the Head of Performance at Matchroom Boxing.
Isaac’s strength and conditioning programs are designed with precision and attention to detail, aiming to bring athletes to the next level of performance. Whether you’re a footballer, a swimmer, or someone simply looking to improve your general fitness, Isaac’s approach will help you unlock your full potential and achieve your goals.
For those who want even more personalised support, Isaac also offers individual coaching and mentorship sessions, providing tailored advice and motivation to keep students on track with their fitness goals.
At Greene’s, we recognise that a successful student is not only physically fit but also mentally well-balanced. Exercise and physical fitness play a critical role in helping students manage the stresses of academic life. Engaging in regular physical activity has been proven to enhance cognitive function, boost concentration, and increase productivity—qualities that are essential for academic success.
Moreover, physical exercise is a powerful tool for mental health. The benefits of exercise extend beyond the physical realm to support emotional well-being by reducing anxiety, stress, and depression.
Our new gym and exercise program will not only focus on physical strength but also provide students with a mental outlet to recharge, refocus, and enhance overall well-being.
Whether it’s a quick gym session, a group fitness class, or personalised training under the guidance of Miles and Isaac, students will have the opportunity to engage in an active routine that promotes a balanced lifestyle.
These regular moments of physical activity can become vital breaks from academic pressures, leading to clearer minds and heightened focus when it’s time to hit the books.
With the added benefit of personalised training and mentorship, students will be supported in their journey to improve both their physical and mental health.
As we begin this exciting new collaboration, students at Greene’s will have access to top-tier training, expert coaching, and a supportive community of like-minded individuals.
Whether you are just beginning your fitness journey or are an experienced athlete looking to take your performance to the next level, we are here to help you maximise your potential.
With an emphasis on both physical and mental health, our gym and exercise program is designed to complement and support academic success. Students will benefit from expert coaching in strength training, conditioning, injury prevention, recovery, and mindfulness practices to help navigate the demands of student life.
Additionally, we are thrilled to offer personalised training and one-on-one mentorship with both Miles and Isaac, ensuring that every student gets the guidance they need to reach their individual goals.
Stay tuned for upcoming fitness classes, workshops, and events designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to excel.
With Miles Welch-Hayes and Isaac Thurston leading the charge, we’re confident that the new gym programme at Greene’s will empower our students to thrive both in the gym, in the classroom, and in life.
