Jonathan, 2012 Greene’s alumnus and Philosophy and Psychology student at the University of Oxford

‘Straightaway I felt part of it [Greene’s] … Greene’s has so many tutors it can call upon, you can always be matched with a tutor that fits you well … You always felt you were working for a reason … you always felt you were working for fun … you were working out of a genuine interest for the subject. I think that is the greatest gift an educational establishment can give you.’

Austin, 2016 Greene's Student

I am very happy for this achievement of myself. As you said, hard work and dedication have paid off … I still remember several conversations we had through this year when I had confusions and questions, you helped and enlightened me a lot. Thank you! Those places you have recommended around Durham and advice you have given are very helpful!”

March Boedihardjo

March Boedihardjo, a seven-year-old student, joined Greene’s in 2005. While young students were not unusual at Greene’s, March’s achievements were exceptional. By July 2007, at just nine years old, he became the youngest student to earn A levels, achieving top grades in Mathematics (A), Further Mathematics (A), Statistics (B), and a Merit in the Advanced Extension Award.

His record was soon surpassed, but March had already been accepted into Hong Kong Baptist University, where he graduated in 2011 at age 13 with a BSc in Mathematical Science and an MPhil in Mathematics. He then pursued a Ph.D. at Texas A&M University

Lea, 2024 Gap Year Student

“My experience at Greene’s has been exciting and very helpful for me and my development. I learned a lot about myself, not even just because of my tutorials, but also because of how I was able to interact with others and was treated [as an adult]. All of the people here encouraged me to stop doing what I didn’t want to do; I learned how to go with the flow.
I discovered that I might want to go in a different direction in life, than what I thought previously. My parents are happy with how I developed and with how things went at Greene’s. It changed so much for me. It gave me clarity.”

Theo, 2019 student

“It has been fantastic. The education is very different from school. It’s a very independent experience and the tutors are brilliant.”

Parent of Isabelle, 2022 Alumna

I’d just like to say that our experience with Greenes and all your staff has been exceptional. It has been an utter relief to me that she has managed to maintain such a high standard of schooling with your continued support. It has not only been excellent education but the kindness and accommodation throughout this time has been phenomenal.”

Matthew, 2019 student

“This summer I suffered a major setback when I failed to get my predicted grades. I had to be honest with myself and accept that I had not taken my studies seriously enough. I decided I was not prepared to settle and wanted to resit in order to prove I could achieve my potential. Greene’s has offered me the chance to fundamentally re-assess my entire approach to learning. As a result, I have learnt to study more effectively and am studying my subjects in greater depth. I am therefore enjoying my subjects more and am confident I am far better equipped to make the transition to university.”

Freddie, 2023 graduate

Freddie, a 2023 Greene’s graduate achieved the highest mark nationally in the 7036 AS Geography examination in the Summer 2022 series at AQA.

Sofia, 2020 Alumna

“I had had a hard time in education and never thought I would be able to do my A levels and Greene’s provided hope for me. I looked forward to going to college every day. It was a good experience for me.”

Tom, 2011 Alumnus

“I am an alumnus of Greene’s, and have been a doctor for 20 years. I have a lot to thanks Greene’s and the tutors for, having gone from an E grade in June to a B in the same November! As I recall I had an hour per week physics, as well as the occasional practical, and then a lot of homework in between. This worked well for me.”

Jojo, 2012 Alumna

Jojo came from China to study A levels and fulfil her dream to go to a British university. In a new culture with an academic style and set of expectations that were new to her Jojo found life at a British boarding school did not give her the flexibility to test her skills with different A level choices. At Greene’s Jojo was given a flexible introductory course to help her decide where her strengths truly lay and what she should be doing at university. With the help of her Personal Tutor, Jojo was then given a full time one year course of A level study and given advice on how to prepare her university application. Jojo went on to secure a place at Durham University. She writes: “Without the care and attention that Greene’s took with my A level studies and the university guidance they gave me I would not be at Durham today. Thank you so much!”

Parent of Nicolas, 2013 Alumnus

Greene’s course of tuition was very organised and the tutors were excellent. Online tutoring has been just as effective and helpful for Nicolas as face-to-face tuition”

Parent of 2015 Alumnus

We wanted to thank you and all your staff for the support you have given Will. He has been accepted at Sheffield University for Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering, which was his first choice and we are all absolutely delighted. We think Will gained so much academically and socially from his time at Greene’s which he really enjoyed, and which will be advantageous in future. We would certainly recommend Greene’s”

With personalised support and expert guidance, she regained confidence and secured a place at King’s College London. “I improved massively in a month and a half,” she said, crediting Greene’s for tailored feedback and preparation.
